Godan Foundation LBG began in 2002 as Ehihamo State Acting Group, a community-based organisation, and was formally registered in 2006 as Ehihamo Development Organization, a Non-Governmental Organization. Over the years, the organisation has collaborated with institutions including the Ghana Education Service, Ghana AIDS Commission, Ministry of Health, corporate organisations and philanthropists to implement educational, health and community development projects.
Building on its experience in literacy development, the organisation piloted reading and spelling training in basic schools in Accra between 2011 and 2013 and later developed the Ghana Reading Icon initiative, which was tested with selected officially approved schools in the Yilo Krobo Municipality in 2017. Since 2018, significant effort has been invested in developing reading and training materials, educational content and supporting software, with six books approved by NaCCA in early 2026 and others including devices undergoing review.
Today, Godan Foundation LBG focuses on literacy, digital learning and career development, working to provide partner schools and communities with books, digital learning centres, tablets and other educational technologies that help young people develop the knowledge and skills needed for future economic opportunities.
