About this project

GODAN Foundation partners with registered schools to establish and develop Digital Learning Centres that provide learners and educators with access to technology, digital resources, and innovative learning opportunities. The Digital Learning Centre is not only about providing equipment and infrastructure; it also includes training and capacity building to ensure that the centre is used effectively and sustainably. Teachers, school administrators, and designated users receive practical training on the operation, management, and effective use of the digital learning resources. The centres are designed to bridge the gap between traditional classroom learning and the digital world by providing a supportive environment where students can develop digital literacy, research, creativity, communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. Through the initiative, participating schools receive support to integrate digital tools and resources into teaching and learning. Learners are given opportunities to explore educational technologies and digital content that complement their curriculum while preparing them for further education, employment, entrepreneurship, and the evolving digital economy. GODAN Foundation works closely with school management to ensure that each centre is properly implemented, managed, and utilized to achieve meaningful educational outcomes. Our goal is to bring digital learning closer to children by equipping schools with the technology, training, and support needed to create sustainable digital learning environments.

Ghana Reading Icon

Ghana Reading Icon (GHARCON) is a GODAN Foundation literacy project that helps children and young people become confident, independent readers. Through books, reading activities, assessments, teacher training and continuous support, the programme works with schools, families and communities to build a strong culture of reading. Our goal is to grow a nationwide reading movement that equips every learner with the literacy skills needed for learning, personal growth and future success. Join GHARCON and help more children read, discover and succeed. Key activities include: guided reading sessions, reading clubs and competitions, provision of age-appropriate books, reading assessments, teacher and volunteer training, storytelling and creative expression activities, parent and community engagement, and continuous learner follow-up.

Read for Career

Read for Career is a GODAN Foundation project that uses reading, career guidance and practical learning to help young people discover their interests, develop useful skills and prepare for meaningful careers. The project encourages learners to read beyond examinations and connect knowledge to real-life opportunities. Through age-appropriate reading materials, career discussions, mentorship, skills development and exposure to different professions, learners are guided to understand their strengths, set personal goals and make informed decisions about their future. Read for Career also works with schools, teachers and communities to create an environment where children can develop confidence, creativity, problem-solving abilities and a positive attitude towards learning. The project prepares young people not only for further education, but also for employment, entrepreneurship and sustainable livelihoods. By helping learners discover what they can do and how they can contribute to society, Read for Career inspires purpose, builds confidence and opens pathways to a brighter future.

One Child One Device

One Child One Device (OCOD) is a GODAN Foundation project that promotes digital inclusion by helping learners gain access to personal learning devices and technology-based educational resources. The project is designed to support children who may have limited access to computers and digital tools at home or school. Through improved access to devices, learners can develop essential digital skills, conduct research, practise lessons, explore educational content and prepare for the demands of the modern world. OCOD also encourages schools, teachers and communities to use technology as a practical tool for teaching and learning. It supports the development of digital confidence, creativity, problem-solving, independent learning and responsible technology use. By placing technology within the reach of more children, One Child One Device helps reduce the digital divide and creates opportunities for learners to connect, learn and grow in a technology-driven society.
