About this project

## Ghana Reading Icon Ghana Reading Icon (GHARCON) is a GODAN Foundation literacy project designed to develop strong reading habits and improve reading ability among children and young people. The project supports learners through structured reading activities, age-appropriate books, reading assessments, teacher training and continuous follow-up. It works with schools, teachers, parents and communities to create a positive reading culture and ensure that learners receive the guidance and resources they need to improve. Ghana Reading Icon helps children progress from basic reading skills to confident and independent reading. It also encourages learners to read widely, express themselves clearly, think creatively and apply what they learn to everyday life. Through the project, GODAN Foundation seeks to make reading enjoyable, accessible and purposeful, while equipping learners with the foundation they need for academic success, personal development and future opportunities. Read for Career

Read for Career is a GODAN Foundation project that uses reading, career guidance and practical learning to help young people discover their interests, develop useful skills and prepare for meaningful careers. The project encourages learners to read beyond examinations and connect knowledge to real-life opportunities. Through age-appropriate reading materials, career discussions, mentorship, skills development and exposure to different professions, learners are guided to understand their strengths, set personal goals and make informed decisions about their future. Read for Career also works with schools, teachers and communities to create an environment where children can develop confidence, creativity, problem-solving abilities and a positive attitude towards learning. The project prepares young people not only for further education, but also for employment, entrepreneurship and sustainable livelihoods. By helping learners discover what they can do and how they can contribute to society, Read for Career inspires purpose, builds confidence and opens pathways to a brighter future.

ONE CHILD ONE DEVICE

One Child One Device One Child One Device (OCOD) is a GODAN Foundation project that promotes digital inclusion by helping learners gain access to personal learning devices and technology-based educational resources. The project is designed to support children who may have limited access to computers and digital tools at home or school. Through improved access to devices, learners can develop essential digital skills, conduct research, practise lessons, explore educational content and prepare for the demands of the modern world. OCOD also encourages schools, teachers and communities to use technology as a practical tool for teaching and learning. It supports the development of digital confidence, creativity, problem-solving, independent learning and responsible technology use. By placing technology within the reach of more children, One Child One Device helps reduce the digital divide and creates opportunities for learners to connect, learn and grow in a technology-driven society.
