Oterkporlu Presby Basic School is a partner school of GODAN Foundation in the Yilo Krobo Municipality. The school plays an important role in providing foundational education to children in Oterkporlu and surrounding communities, while nurturing their academic, social and personal development. Through its partnership with GODAN Foundation, Oterkporlu Presby Basic School participates in initiatives focused on improving literacy, career awareness and digital learning. These include the Ghana Reading Icon, Read for Career and One Child One Device projects. What's happening now.
As part of the implementation of GODAN Foundation’s projects, construction of a computer block is ongoing at Oterkporlu Presby Basic School. The project is being undertaken through the joint collaboration of the school, the Oterkporlu community alumni and GODAN Foundation, demonstrating the impact that can be achieved when education stakeholders work together towards a common goal. The facility is intended to expand access to digital learning and provide learners with an enabling environment for computer-based education, research and the development of practical technology skills. It will support the implementation of the Ghana Reading Icon, Read for Career and One Child One Device projects. In addition to the infrastructure, the initiative will promote ICT training for teachers and school administrators, improve access to digital teaching resources and support the effective use and management of the facility. Through this collaborative effort, the partners are investing in a stronger educational future for learners at Oterkporlu Presby Basic School and the surrounding community. The ongoing construction represents a significant step towards promoting digital inclusion, reading development and career-focused education.
