Stanbic Bank Ghana has formally extended its partnership with the One Child One Device programme for another three years, with a commitment that will see 5,000 refurbished tablets placed in rural classrooms across the country by the end of 2027.
This builds on the foundation laid in 2024, when the first 1,200 devices were placed in schools across the Volta and Northern regions. The renewal more than triples that footprint.
Critically, the partnership now includes a maintenance budget. Every device placed under the new agreement comes with three years of parts replacement, software updates, and a local technician on-call within a 200km radius. We learned the hard way that a tablet without service is a paperweight within a year.
Each device ships pre-loaded with the Ghana CCP curriculum, our reading library, and the maths essentials course built in collaboration with the GES. Internet access is optional but not required — everything works offline.
