Every one of our 280 partner schools completed its Term 1 reading assessment this month — the first full-cohort round since Reading Icon 2026 launched in March.
Assessments are scored across four components: decoding, fluency, comprehension, and retention, using the framework now adopted by the Ghana Education Service. Regional coordinators administered the assessment in person and entered scores directly into our tracking system.
Early results show median fluency scores up 11% versus the same point in Cohort 5, though gains are uneven by region — Northern and Upper West schools, which joined more recently, are still catching up to schools with three or more years in the programme.
Full regional breakdowns will be shared with school heads individually; an aggregated summary will appear in our Q2 impact update.
